South Carolina – Scotch-Irish in South Carolina History

The Scotch-Irish are an important part of South Carolina history. They brought their spirit and ruggedness, honed from years of religious persecution, across the Atlantic. During the Revolutionary War, all men capable of bearing arms were in the field fighting for liberty. These patriots took part in every battle fought in the state of South Carolina.
