Abbeville, South Carolina – Trinity Church
|
Glenn Brill of Anderson took this photo of the Abbeville Trinity Church in April 2007.
Glenn writes: "Trinity's spire soars 125 feet and dominates Abbeville's skyline. Known locally as the "pink church," it was built in 1859 of pink stuccoed brick. On November 4, 1860, it was the site of a service to consecrate the Secession. Trinity Church is also known for its large tracker organ designed by John Baker of Charleston (one of only two still in use). The church is open daily, except during Sunday services."
