Greenville, South Carolina – Monarch Butterfly
|
This photo of a monarch butterfly was taken by Steven Faucette of Williamston in September 2007 at the Roper Mountain Science Center in Greenville. For more wonderful shots of the Upstate, visit Steven Faucette Photography.
Steven writes: "This Monarch butterfly was photographed at Roper Mountain Science Center, part of the Greenville County School System. I enjoy capturing the minute details of butterflies such as this one. Butterflies have a complete molecular change during their metamorphosis. This is symbolic of a Christian dying to the world and living a new life in Christ. He is completely changed. I've photographed other butterflies but the Monarch is my favorite. I really like the way the camera captures the texture of the wings and body."
