Communities in the Columbia Area

  • Columbia real estate

Columbia is South Carolina's state capital and largest city. It is located in the center of SC at the junctions of Interstates 20, 26, and 77. Columbia's downtown area is undergoing a revitalization; older homes are being restored, and there is also plenty of new construction. Businesses are relocating downtown, giving it activity around the clock.

  • Ballentine real estate

16 miles northwest of Columbia, Ballentine claims to be "The Gateway to Lake Murray." Even though several subdivisions have been developed in recent years, much of the area is still rural.

  • Blythewood real estate

An easy commute north on I-77 from Columbia, Blythewood is one of the fastest-growing areas of metro Columbia. Blythewood is where country meets suburbia. Home to golf courses, planned communities, undeveloped land, and award-winning schools, Blythewood offers something for everyone.

  • Chapin real estate

Located along the northern shores of Lake Murray, Chapin calls itself "The Capital of Lake Murray." 30 minutes north of Columbia, Chapin has a traditional feel to its downtown area. Homes can be found both in subdivisions and on private land.

  • Irmo real estate

Just a few minutes from downtown lies the bustling town of Irmo. Housing communities are located next to large retail areas which offer hundreds of shops, restaurants, and entertainment options. Irmo was recognized by Money Magazine in 2007 as the 12th "Most Affordable Place to Live in the Country".

  • Lake Murray real estate

Home to prime real estate and spectacular views, Lake Murray is an affluent waterfront community. At one time weekend cottages dotted the shoreline, but now Lake Murray is a full-time residential area. With over 500 miles of shoreline that stretch through four counties, Lake Murray has diverse real estate options.

  • Lexington real estate

Just 15 miles west of Columbia, Lexington is a metropolis all its own. It keeps a small town feel although there has been recent, rapid growth. Many businesses are still family owned, and residents comprise much of the workforce. Families are attracted to Lexington because of its good schools and suburban lifestyle.
